FINDING MEANING IN LIFE AMIDST CHAOS

Have you ever had on of those days where you just wished you’d stayed in bed? As in, everything seems to be going wrong that, in hindsight, staying in bed all day would have proved more effective! This happened to me last week. My day was pure chaos. I’m not talking about a few odd mishaps. No, everything seemed to working against me.

It’s in times like these, I struggle with finding meaning in life. I question why? and how come? and what if?

Sometimes life just doesn’t go as planned. If you’re anything like me, you prefer structure, you enjoy routines, and you definitely like to glide smoothly through life, even if it feels a bit predictable.

But, life isn’t always predictable. Life is messy and cluttered. And one thing is for sure:

Life doesn’t always make sense.

That’s a tough reality for many of us to grapple with. Why? Because we like to have things figured out. We need reasons, we demand answers, we want to feel ‘in control’.

Going back to my chaotic day last week, my sweet husband took me out for a coffee after work to bring a little bliss back into my life. Sun shining, soy latte in hand, sitting next to my favorite person in the whole wide world and what was I doing? Obsessing about all the things that went wrong that day and how I was going to cope with my hard life. {eh em, I sometimes exaggerate under stress!}

I was trying to force clarity and making myself unsettled in the process.

While a bad day might be considered an expected part of life, sometimes we experience an entire messy season. We don’t understand what’s going on in our life. We wonder why things are unfolding the way that they are. We wait, pray, ask for advice and listen for guidance.

And we hear nothing. No clarity surfaces.

This can be very discouraging and frustrating. It can also be stressful, even scary.

But, take heart, beautiful one.

YOU ARE RIGHT WHERE YOU NEED TO BE.

Even when your NOW feels uncomfortable and cluttered, your life has a purpose. You are moving in the right direction.

You are being changed, restored, TRANSFORMED into who your Creator has designed you to be. Great things are coming your way. You are being led towards a reality beyond your highest hopes and wildest dreams.

You do not need to wrestle with the clutter and chaos. You are being guided. You must simply go forth in peaceful trust.

Release the pressure to figure things out today. Surrender the urgency to move through this confusing period more quickly.

Clarity will come in time. Maybe not in your time, but in the right time.

Trust that you are being led by a Higher Power that loves you. Believe that you are finding meaning in life by creating it.

Today’s mantra: My life has meaning and direction.

    Sarah Kate,
You must have been a butterfly on the wall today at my therapy session. This posting is totally fitting for what I gained in therapy.
You have a precious & talented way of knowing what to post and how to write (or say) it.
God bless you & forever have peace on your journey!!! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom, knowledge and discipline. You are a shining light in a path of hopelessness, loneliness, low self esteem & low confidence.
